MAP supports UK SMEs to connect with National Highways

MAP has connected over 85 UK SMEs with the National Highways to discuss sustainability in procurement, local supplier preference, innovation and priority product categories.

National Highways is responsible for operating, maintaining and improving England’s motorways and major A roads, playing a critical role in supporting national connectivity.

The type of work undertaken by National Highways’ supply chain is extremely diverse. It ranges from investment planning through the life cycle of solution design and construction, to operating and maintaining the network, and beyond to post-project evaluation and customer service management.

As part of its commitment to government targets, National Highways is working to increase opportunities for SMEs, requiring its directly employed suppliers to contract at least 25% of their work to SME’s, creating opportunities for smaller UK businesses to engage in major infrastructure programmes.

MAP’s work with the National Highways comes via its role advising Made in Britain on supply chains. Made in Britain is a trade association with a growing membership, now of 2,200 UK manufacturing companies.

MAP UK & International delivers strategic trade and supply solutions that strengthen resilience, sustainability and growth. We do this through providing advice, intelligence and project management, as well as managing relationships between buyers, suppliers, investors and stakeholders.
