MAP collaborates with the UK’s National Health Service

MAP collaborates with NHS Supply Chain, the procurement delivery partner for the UK’s National Health Service (NHS).  This work includes making connections with 60+ UK small and medium size companies (SMEs) to explore new supply chain relationships.

NHS Supply Chain plays a crucial role in the healthcare system by managing the sourcing, delivery, and supply of a vast range of products. It handles over 8 million orders annually, distributing more than 28 million lines of picked goods from over 900 suppliers to more than 17,400 locations throughout England and Wales.

The organisation is instrumental in government procurement, operating under the ownership of the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care since April 2019. It embodies the UK government’s commitment to efficiency and sustainability in public sector procurement and supports the government’s efforts to boost supply chain resilience, safeguarding the continuity of critical healthcare services.

NHS Supply Chain has a strong focus on supporting SMEs, driving carbon reduction, and advancing sustainability initiatives. By doing so, it aligns with broader national goals, such as the UK’s ambition to become the world’s first carbon net-zero national health system by 2045.

MAP’s work with NHS Supply Chain comes via its role advising Made in Britain on supply chains.  Made in Britain is a trade association with a growing membership, now of more than 2,000 UK manufacturing companies.

MAP strengthens the resilience, sustainability and growth of the entities it works for.  MAP does this through International Trade and Supply Chain solutions that advise, inform and connect: buyers, suppliers, investors and stakeholders.  MAP is increasingly focused on, and aligned with, the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.
